Compatibility
Will TealMemBrain run under PalmOS 5? (100%) TealMemBrain's memory display and popup window will run under OS 5, however its useful stack boost feature will not be functional as the necessary operating system functions were removed by PalmSource in PalmOS 5. To boost the stack size in applications one at a time, use the file information screen in TealMover 1.90 or higher. Note that under OS5, TealMaster must be used as the system extensions manager, as other managers (like Hackmaster or X-master) are not currently compatible with PalmOS 5.
Thanks, that helped! Registering
After I register, I still get a "Please Register" popup in TealMaster. (100%) The registration reminder is actually from TealMaster, not the hack. TealMaster is our own enhanced, standard system extensions (hack) manager. A trial version of TealMaster is included with our extensions-format programs as a convenience for those who do not already have TealMaster or a similar manager installed on their handheld. TealMaster can be registered separately for $9.95.
Thanks, that helped! Troubleshooting
When I perform an activation tap TealMemBrain still comes up even after I deleted it. (100%) As noted in the documentation, you cannot delete an active system extension ("hack") using the PalmOS launcher's "delete" menu. You must deactivate the hack in the extensions manager (Hackmaster or TealMaster). If you forgot, you'll need to restart the handheld using the pinhole in the back, but there will be no permanent damage. If you are running TealMaster, you can always safely delete hacks there.
Thanks, that helped!
When stack boost is active, I get a "Stack Overflow" crash in an app... (100%) Some older programs written prior to OS 3.0 manipulate the system stack directly to increase the available space. This includes some chess programs and computation-intensive apps. This is no longer necessary with newer operating system versions, but will cause a "Stack Overflow" error under the new variable stack which the stack boost feature utilizes. For these apps, use the "exclude app" feature to turn off stack boost for that particular app.
Thanks, that helped!
When I run one of my other hacks, I get crashes even with the stack boost feature active. (100%) Boosting the stack eliminates the primary cause of intra-hack and program/hack conflicts, but will not fix conflicts resulting from other interactions or bugs in those apps. Other problems may, if possible, require redesign from one or both developers of the programs which are having problems.
Thanks, that helped!
